I love comments! If you’re like me, say Yeeaaaaaah!
My readers and comment authors are the reason I get excited each time I login to my WordPress dashboard. Most of the comments are just like real conversion between me and my readers.
We have never met, have we?
Yet, we feel we know each other so intimately. This is one of the forces and goodies of blog commenting. Tell me, if you hear I’m in your country and your town, won’t you like us to meet?
As a matter of fact, it’s going to be one of the most exciting meetings you are going to have – meeting physically a fellow blogger and reader of your blog.
So for about 2 weeks now, I have been thinking of developing a simple script that will quickly generate and produce an html table of commentators on my blog in a certain month. About 24 hours ago, I started writing this script and here is the result below.
Here are all those who dropped comments on my blog in July 2014 (excluding my replies). The script has listed them in order of number of comments.
Everyone on this list is very important to me.Whether you dropped 1000 or just 1 comment, you are the reason this blog is where it is.
Thank you everyone on the list for making this blog active in July 2014. I’ll also be doing same for the current month and months to come so please drop a reasonable comment to feature on the list 😉
The script to generate this list will be free so I’ll be making it available for download pretty soon. Apart from just creating this list, you can use it to send a friendly “THANK YOU” mail to your commentators. That’s a great way to keep them coming back by showing you really care.
The last thing I added to this script is the Dofollow/Nofollow tag. Before generating the list, you set a certain minimum number of comments. Anyone with comment count from that number upward will be given a dofollow link on the list. If you want everyone to be nofollow, just enter 0 in the field.
EDITED!
I finally turned this script to a WordPress plugin. Read more about it here how to get it for free!

It’s great how much love you’re giving your commenters but I can definitely relate to it especially during when my blog was active couple of years ago.
I haven’t been blogging that much in the past year or two but I still get thrilled whenever someone leaves a comment on one of my posts or even older posts.
Best of luck!
Hey Melvin,
Glad you are hear!
I remember reading your blog even before ever starting to blog. I bought ad space on your blog in the past twice.
What’s keeping you back? School?

You can already get version 1.0 of the plugin here for free: https://wordpress.org/plugins/mycommentauthors/ if you are WP blogger 😉
Let me know how it goes
WOW, first off @Kevin and @Don … those two are seriously engaging.
But this just tells me that I have to step my game up and be more engaging. Still nonetheless, I’m grateful to be on this list.
What this shows, more than anything else, is that you’ve done a great job in building an active, engaging community – which is what any blogger can hope for.
Hats off to you for that.
Hope you have a great rest of the weekend.
– Andrew
Thanks for the encouraging words Andrew!
So excited you are part of this community.
We call know you too have a wonderful community. Maybe using this plugin to highlight your comment authors too will be a great idea. What do you think?
Hi enstine,
This plugin seems to be awesome, hope it will be live soon on WordPress. Anyway going to be active on this blog in order to become the part of this community.
It’s on WordPress already @ https://wordpress.org/plugins/mycommentauthors/
You can download and test it. However, I have some more stuff to add so if you download now, you’ll need to delete and reload when I finally get the stable version on
Hello Enstine,
I was little bit busy with projects and got free time today. Checked emails and decide to leave a feedback. Once again thanks for sharing this amazing WordPress plugin, going to start using it own my WordPress blog.
Hi Enstine,
Thanks a lot for the mention and for your lovely e-mail.:)
It’s such an amazing step to be taken as to know about people who comment at the blog.
It’s easy for bloggers to connect with their readers and specially commenters who like to visit the blog in a regular interval of time.
Thanks Enstine.
Have a nice week.:)
~Ravi
Hey Ravi,
thanks for being an active member in my community.
You’ll be on the list for this month again 😉

Hi Enstine Sir,

Any thanks for getting into this list and sure you script is awesome.

Hi Enstine,
I really liked the way you are appreciating your blog readers and commentators . You are giving excellent knowledge to bloggers with your blog so it is definitely worth to comment on your blog. And I believe one comment on blog post can make you feel wonderful!
Shaswat Shah,
https://www.Mybloggingclub.com
Hey Shah,
I’m one of those bloggers who give a lot of value to comments. It’s a source of encouragement to me 😉
Thanks for being part of my community
Good Morning Enstine, What an Awesome way to start my day. This is sure a great list of commentators that you have here interacting with you here on your blog..
Thanks for the mention, this is such a wonderful idea, what a treat.. Hav e a Wonderful weekend my friend.. Chery :))
Hey Chery,
Thanks for those words of encouragement.
I have made the plugin available and know many of my readers will love to use it.
It’s free for download on the wp plugin directory. So simple but very effective
That’s very lucky of you………………………………………………………….
Over 600 comments from above 200 commentators in just a single month would mean a lot to any blogger. Despite the fact that this blog is quite new, you have managed to get a lot of direct traffic. I think consistency and hard work are the reasons of this success.
Everyday, I know that there will be a new blog post by you. I open this blog first and then do the rest of my work. Maybe many of your fellow readers must be doing the same. Your posts surely attract more direct traffic!
PS: I am quite jealous of you. So many comments! WOW!
Have a nice day!
lol I know you too can do even better bro
You’re on a good footing and I love to see you around. Always very very excited to read your comment and know that you are part of my community.
Please, keep the relationship warm
I know it can be done, but its quite tough for a tech blog!
Thank You for appreciating our relationship. I am here because of your content which attracts me. I write a comment as a token of appreciation!
I will try my best to continue this! 🙂
You approved my comments despite of my very poor English and always replied my questions . Thank you so much . Thanks for that I have learnt from you .
Be happy and happy blogging .
Hey Bilal,
I care more about you being around my community and making it warm. I love the relationship. I read and understand your language. If there is more I can do to help, I won’t hesitate.
We are friends so let’s keep moving on. Always a pleasure to see you around 😉
Hi Enstine,
Nice Script , i wish i could make some more comments but i am little bit lazy in that.
BTW thanks for including those commentators who even make only 1 comment.
and hope you will also share this script with your readers.
i think this will lead more comments and new readers to your blog.
Best of luck Buddy
Gagan
Hey Gagan,
Thanks for the comment.

In the future, many more comments will be from my side, because i love to read your blog.
Best of luck and have a nice day..
Regards
Thanks for the wonderful comment Ahmed
My readers are the reason for my activity. I love to engage with them 😉
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend
Hello Enstine,
How cool is that? I got the email, and was so surprised at the list and stats you shared about your comments in July. What a novel idea!
It’s a super way to show appreciation and keep folks coming because because we’re all innately egotistical, right? 🙂
Seriously, I do enjoy your site and will be back tomorrow to check out more of your awesome content.
Hope you’re having a great start to your weekend.
Take Care,
– Carol 🙂
Hey Carol,
I’m glad I know and read your blog too and thanks for the wonderful comment
I have transformed the script into a smart, very light plugin so anyone can download from the WordPress plugin directory for free. I’ll share more about the link early next week
Thanks for being part of my blog and I hope to see you here again shortly 😉
Thanks you so much enstinemuki…for great comment list..
Please edit my full name …from Sachin to Sachin Yadav
ok I’ll look into that later on today
Thanks for being active on this blog
Bro. its happy to see my name there in the list.
I am happy to comment in this valuable site.
What a terrific idea. This can easily lead to running a competition or just bring out the competitive edge in people. It’s also a sneaky list generator although most of your commenters will be probably not be buyers – unless you create or re-sell more brilliant scripts like this one.
Keep up the good work.
Regards,
Steven Lucas
Hi Steven,
Good to see you here and thanks for the words of encouragement
I just got the plugin up and running on wp plugin browser. I’ll share more about it nextweek
oh.. I’m on the top of list but from bottom 😀
Well, it’s nice to see how much respect commentators are getting in return for just a comment [I’m talking about me].
Turning script into a plugin is a nice idea! After all, WordPress is known for its plugin and friendliness 🙂
Weldone Negi 😉
The plugin is ready. I’ll share its download link next week
Hope you stop by to grab a copy
What a wonderful idea and yes please, I’d love a copy! Just back from a two week holiday so hope to make more comments in the coming month! Just a quick question, please… is there a difference between “dropped” a comment and “made” a comment? Thanks, Joy
Hey Joy,
Good to see you around again
Yes, I have 2 copies for free;
1 – WordPress plugin
2 – stand alone script
You can chose any of them
Dropped or made, are same. I just wanted to create some variations 😉
BTW, welcome back from the holiday
Glad to read it’s now a plugin and really look forward to getting a copy. I subscribed to your list so hopefully that’s the way to get it – as well as learn more blogging tips!
Had a great holiday thanks – now back to the clear-up and catch-up.
Joy
Hey Enstine,
Okay, I see you definitely got it working right and I will admit that’s pretty cool.
I guess that is a much easier way to see who has commented by month. The email was a nice touch too and I’m sure that might warrant a little more interaction on their part. You never know, they may want to vie for the first place position on August’s blog post.
You do post a lot and I can’t make every post I’m afraid but was happy to see I made 12 for last month.
Cool script and I’m sure plenty of people will like to get their hands on that one. Very smart of you and way to go.
Thanks for sharing this Enstine and you have a wonderful weekend. I appreciate having made your list!
~Adrienne
Hey Adrienne,
I was shocked how many of the few readers that have been to this post are interested in owning a copy. The script has some installation steps that may be a little difficult for some bloggers. So I just finished with the plugin version. I submitted to WordPress and it was approved in 5 minutes.
I’ll upload the plugin in a few hours so everyone can access it directly from the wordpress directory
It runs in admin and really has no impact on load speed. All it does is generate the list of commentators in html format so users can copy and paste in blog post. I just want it to be that simple so it can attract more users. No complications with shortcode, nothing to do with loading speed. Simple and straight to the point 😉
I would love to see this script and possibly use it on my blog. Do you know if it would work on blogger?
Whoa!
This is nice and really created a sense of belonging
You’ve really done a very marvelous work compiling all those names
Keep the wonderful flag flying, will definitely keep on coming back here
Nice work
Hey Lawrence,
I have created a plugin that runs in admin to create the list. Is that something you will like to use? It’s free
Now this is something interesting. Loved the way of thanking your commenters. Keep it up mate.
Thanks for the comment Atish!
I hope you will like the plugin – in fact, turned the script into a plugin
Hey Enstine,
YES! I win!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha. 🙂
This is an awesome script, Enstine. Very cool. And what a great way to reward your readers who leave you comments!
Hey Kevin,
Initially, I didn’t think the script will attract interest from any body so I made it standalone. Being standalone, it has some installation requirements that may keep some bloggers uncomfortable. So for the past few hours after publishing this post, I have been working on turning it into a little plugin. It works like magic.
It runs only in admin and helps you generate the list of comment authors. Nothing else. I took down the emailing feature because of serious issues with server limitations.
I just submitted the plugin to WordPress so they can host and make it more widely available. Everyone can get it free so if you have time to run a test, let me know
LOL… sorry but that’s too funny. I’ll take it!!!!
Hi Enstine,
What a great way to “give back” on this post. This is like a “thank you” card for all your readers. I am grateful that I was part of your interview and became one of your top commentors because of that.
I appreciate all the goodness you do for others!
-Donna
Hey Donna,
I’m so excited I eve met you in this blogging world.
I see better days ahead reading your blog and interacting with you.
You have created an awesome authority and who won’t like to dine on the same table with you?
Have a wonderful weekend Donna
Hey Enstine,
First, Congratulations on running such a wonderful and successful blog!
I said in one of my previous posts, that even though I only found your blog within the past few weeks, every time I read a post… I leave feeling like I am a little bit smarter and learned something new.
I really like the idea of counting comments and giving recognition to those who have been active on the blog! If you make a plug-in… I’m in for sure!
Again, congratulations on the success and thank you for helping me learn a little bit more each day!
All the best,
Jeff Sollee
Hey Jeff,
Yes I remember in your last comment, you mentioned your excitement.
I can’t measure my own excitement reading your comments Jeff! You have a way of making me happy each time I see you around.
I have the script as standalone piece of software. I initially did think people will like the idea as a plugin. If it goes well, I’ll turn it into a plugin and of course, it will be free.
Let me gather more feedback from readers.
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend
Hi Enstine,
WOW! I doesn’t feel like I left that many comments, lol… But I read every article and I do try keep in touch with you’re up to. Your content is that good my friend!!!!
Thank you again for mentioning me. This script is a great idea. What a fun way to create a little excitement for your blog and a little competition among your readers!
Thanks again!
~ Don Purdum
Hey Don,
Good to see you here today my friend and thanks for the comment. You just jumped on the list for August again by dropping this comment 😉
Hope you are having a great weekend 😉
Hello Bro,
What an exceptional act? The only way to differentiate between those who were endowed with creative act is by showing off creativity. To be frank, I have not for once came across such a script just like this before in any blog, counting the authors and numbers comments for a particular month, most especially, whether to give dofollow or nofollow link, I really jealousy the idea and you are on the platform to a greater comment this season. Thanks for the recognition bro!
Wow! sweet comments!
I will make this available next week. Hope you grab a copy free 😉
To frank, I can’t wait to have it bro!
Hi Enstine,
Wow, that must have been a lot of work to go through all your commentors for the month of July, but this is a genius idea, as well as the idea of featuring bloggers as you’ve started doing.
This really gave me an idea for myself. Way to go, Enstine.
Hey Syviane,
Thanks for the words of encouragement
It’s like a lot of bloggers will love the idea. I may end up making this a plugin
BTW, I sent you a mail. No reply from you so I doubt if you got it 😉
This script is wonderful. I do hope you make the download link available soon.
This should be a unique script or plugin in the WordPress plugin directory because i have never seen a plugin that performs this kind of task before.
Hey bro,
Thanks for the beautiful comment 😉
I never saw any too
Well, I didn’t think there will be much need for this. If there is need, I’ll make it a free plugin
Thanks for the encouragement
Hi Eric,
Glad to see your comment reports. It’s really good to have such a strong community around your blog. Sharing monthly report about comments is a good way to show the importance of commenters.
Thanks for the word of encouragement Kuldeep
I’m sure you’ll be running the script too 😉
Hi,
This is really interesting. First congrats on writing the script, second thank you for being generous to spread it.
Many things going on here with this script you created, you intrigued me to come back to see my name on the list, you motivated many to comment more, if they need a do-follow link. I guess you have set the number to 30.
This is a nice hook buddy. Just wondering, on which platforms do this script work, perhaps need to wait for your next post. 🙂
That’s interesting comment Rohan 😉
This will be available for WordPress only and yes, in the next post, I’ll make it available with details how to setup.
I sent a mail to the list using the script. Did you get a copy?
Well, I’ll be little moderate setting the dofollow limit below 30, somewhere around 15 😉 How about that?
Yes, I did received the mail and that’s how I landed here. Anyway, its your blog, so your rules. It would be great if to see the limit at 15 though.
I have seen many people showing top comment authors information on sidebar. This is on similar analogy, but it is very much attractive. To be featured on the post is something very honorable. Keep going.
I just finished making the script a free wordpress plugin. I submitted to WordPress and it was approved about 5 minutes after. I’ll soon upload and make it available for free download.
Hope you grab a copy
Hi Enstine,
Those surely are a lot many comments! I never keep track of my comments, the ones I get on my blog, nor the ones I make, but sounds like a good idea.
Great list indeed, and creating such a script could only have been done by you 🙂
Good to see most of my friends listed here and perhaps those who were featured, automatically have more comments, so that’s understandable too. Love the concept and great going.
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice weekend 🙂
Yeah those who were featured and were active with readers are on the top of the list 😉
I’m glad most of your readers are also my readers. It’s a great thing to share a wonderful community.
This script can help to track comment on your blog. But I really don’t know if there is any means to track comments on other blogs. If that’s something people like, they will one day figure it out 😉
Thanks for stopping by and do have a wonderful weekend Harleena
Hey thanks a lot for mentioning me in this great list Enstine Muki, very unique idea, i think no one tried this ever before. Good work keep it up.
Hey Shanthi,
By leaving a comment, you got your self to the list.
Thanks for the engagement and hope we make good use of better days ahead.
Have a wonderful weekend
Awesome list sir Enstine and I’m glad to make your community. I could have made more comment if not for lack of PC. Well, no complains. BTW, nice script, I’d like to use it someday. 🙂
Hey Sam,
Thanks for the comment
The script will be available for free next week.
Have a wonderful weekend
Ohhh my god what’s a great list of commentators. I am very happy to see my self in top 10. Thank you so much enstine sir, for mentioning me in the list of active commentators of your July Report.
This article will help me to connect with all these active commentators. I am going to visit on their Blog too. Thanks again sir.
I hope, i will be under 5 in august report. Thanks for your kind support 🙂
