Monetizing Your Website

Having a website is often a great way to make a bit of extra money if you can monetize it right. However, many do not know the correct way to make money off their new sites, which means you are putting money and time into something that will not give you anything back.

Still, there are ways to get a return on your investment and get a bit of extra money. Then, you can make your site work for you.

Growing Your Audience

The key to monetizing any website, no matter how you do it, is to ensure you have a large enough audience to support your venture. You’ll want to optimize your site for search engines so as many people as possible can find it.

Person using Google

Look into intent SEO, which involves creating content and pages based on the intent of searchers. That way, you can get to the top for the right term at the right time. By publishing conversion-based content, you can ensure you attract the right visitors. You can review a guide on intent SEO from to maximize growth.

Selling Digital Items

If you have enough traffic, you can sell digital products on the site. For instance, perhaps you can create software that fits within your niche. Or you might sell eBooks that meet the needs of your audience. No matter what you sell, it should fit the needs of your audience, so you will want to know them before determining what to offer.

Selling eBooks is not a new thing, but there is still room for you to take advantage of. The demand for these products is only growing, and there are several advantages. There is not much of an upfront cost of doing an eBook, especially compared to a traditional book.

eBook next to paper books

Digital courses are another popular item to sell online. Many popular eBook platforms give their authors lower returns, so you might want to look for another way to package and sell your knowledge. Online courses are a perfect way of doing so.

Think about what your readers might want to learn and offer a course with that information. It is not that expensive to make one since there are several free platforms to do so. Think about the skills you already have and how you can turn those into useful information. For instance, if you have a website built around helping others create extra income streams, you could offer a course on how to be a virtual assistant. It takes a bit of work to put a course together, but it is great for passive income.

Branded Items

If you have a great brand already, you could consider offering merchandise with your brand. Many people like branded items since it shows they like specific communities. It is a great way to monetize your website.

Even if you don’t have a well-known brand yet, you can still use this strategy. You may consider selling items that are helpful, funny, or relatable. Some programs make this possible without much of an upfront cost as well – you might only have to pay for the item after someone has ordered it.

  9. I am confused about earning money through your website, the first thing is to be monetized by google, What are the requirements to be monetized? is it by having tons of audience? and I also see that some are by subscriber, that’s why I am confused.

  10. Hi Enstine,

    This is great information!

It’s possible to monetize a blog as long as it has high-quality content that attracts a significant amount of readers.

Aim to solve people’s problems first and they won’t mind making a purchase.

  11. Having a big audience is key Enstine. Targeting is most important but scaling comes in a close second. I meet people daily, promote old posts and usually update and publish an old post every 1-2 days to grow my audience for effective monetizing.
