5 Not so Popular But Essential Tips That Will Make You a Celebrated Blogger

You want to build such a name that when heard; everyone will give you a standing ovation or even kneel down.

Well, I don’t know if you can achieve that with blogging judging by the fact you’re not Jesus Christ.

However, what I do know is that you can become a blogger that everyone will love to celebrate.

You can become a blogger that people will always like to associate with knowing you’re a big deal.

You can build such a name that every blogger in the world will be fortunate to seat with you even for few seconds.

Now, the question is how is that attainable?

Exactly what does it take to reach such an enviable height while you’re perhaps blogging on a part-time basis?

Maybe you’ve been blogging for a Donkey years with little to nothing to show for it or, you’re new to blogging and still wondering if those income proofs you often see online are real or just some bogus claims.

Let me tell you something, there is nothing you cannot achieve in life as long as you’re willing to work it out.

All the big names you’ve seen on the internet are real. All the case studies about how someone went from zero to 6 figures in a few years are also real; however, what you must also understand is that it doesn’t happen out of magic.

Yes, there’s no magical way to making money from the internet and even in real life, except through some dubious manner that might end up throwing you behind bars.

The bad news is that you can never become a celebrated blogger out of nowhere, you must work your way to that height, in other words, you must earn it. It doesn’t come on a platter of gold.

Pat Flynn is one of the most famous and celebrated bloggers on the internet today.  Believe me; some people even envy his income reports, but what they often forget or do not know is that he has been on this since 2008, if I’m correct, that’s about eight solid years of hard work.

I bet you might know little to nothing about the internet back then.

Now, the good news is that it won’t cost you much to become famous too. It will only cost you some dedication and discipline and also the ability to choose your sources of information wisely.

In this blog post, I will share with you the top 5 proven tips that will turn you into a celebrated blogger in a few months from now.

Without further ado, permit me to take you to a roller costar journey.

5 steps to be

Simple Steps To Becoming a Celebrated Blogger

1. Know Your Purpose

This is one of the most critical steps to successful business in any niche. You need to find out what your primary purpose of blogging is as this will help to fuel your strength and dedication until you make it.

Like Simon Sinek once said in one of his TED Talks, you need to figure out your big “WHY”; it is only when you know why you’re doing what you’re doing that you will continue doing it even in the presence of adversities.

So tell me, are you blogging to:

  • Impact people’s lives positively with your knowledge thereby make money as a reward?
  • Build a side income that will end up replacing your day job?
  • Make quick and easy cash and then, run away?
  • Help people achieve their heart desires and then, get paid in doing so? (Similar to the first one)
  • Gain exposure so you can market your products and services?
  • Get the attention of your clients so they’ll know what you offer?
  • Doing it because others are doing?
  • No Reason at all?
  • All of the above.

Let me tell you something, what you identified as your principal blogging purpose will eventually affect the way you go about it. That’s why it’s crucial for you to know this even before starting.

Simon also wrote an excellent book on that titled “Start with WHY”, you might want to check it out.

Bottom Line: It is of utmost importance that you know why you’re doing this in the first place else, you’ll be wallowing in confusion without any tangible output.

2. Know Your Definition of Success

One thing I’ve come to understand is that success means different things to different people. What you take as being successful might not be the same thing your friend sees as being successful.

You should, therefore, know what success means to you as this will help you to find out when you finally arrived at your destination.

To me, having a huge email list might be what being a successful blogger means whereas to you, it could be being famous in such a way that everywhere you turn to on the internet, your name will appear.

To others, it could be:

  • Getting thousands and millions of page views
  • Having more than a thousand students enrolled in your course
  • Knowing all the influencers in your niche
  • Having thousands of followers on Twitter
  • Making over $10k/month
  • All of the above
  • Etc.

It could be anything, but the main thing is to know exactly what it is because, without that, you won’t even know what you’re looking for let alone knowing when you found it.

3. Know The People You want to Serve

Believe me, you can’t be targeting everyone on the internet and expect to become a celebrated blogger; it has never happened that way.

If you want to become successful in blogging (Of cause I know you want that), you must know who your ideal clients and customers are and then, target them alone while leaving every other person.

Like Frank Kern stated in one of his books, “the first thing you need to do before you go forth and start trying to get clients is to choose the right segment of your market”.

Using the Florist Niche as example,

Let’s assume you’re a florist. Now, research conducted by the National Floral Marketing Institute discovered that “men under the age of 35 spend $30 on flowers on Valentine’s Day while, mean between the age of 45 and 60 spends 350% more.

Isn’t that mind blowing?

What this means is that you can get that 350% increase in revenue simply by targeting the right segment of the market.

You can see how critical it is to know the right people you should target in your niche? You can’t possibly appeal to everyone on the internet.

If you waste your time targeting the people who do not need/like what you’re offering in the first place, you will struggle to get your name out there because no matter what you do, it won’t mean anything to them.

But when you target the right people, they will always spread the word to their friends and before you know it, your name will be on everyone ones lips in your niche.

4. Master the Act of Writing Irresistible Copies

Everything that happens in the blogosphere today involves content marketing. It does not matter what type of website you’re running, be it an Amazon affiliate site, Adsense based site, a site that promotes your company’s products and services, you can’t do well without proper content marketing.

Have you ever heard the cliché that “Content is King”? Maybe, or maybe not.

But do you know the shocking truth?

Content is no longer the king; it was dethroned a long time ago. A new king has also emerged, and that’s:

…………………………Epic and useful Contents.

Epic and useful Contents.

Mediocre contents no longer have any place on the internet, and if you so desire to be a blogger that everyone will always want to hang out with then, you must start nurturing your writing skill.

You need to learn how to write such articles that will be capable of holding your readers by the throat and keep their eyes and mind glued from start to finish of every blog post you publish.

If you subscribed to Jon Morrow’s email list, have you ever gotten an email from him notifying you of a new blog post and you didn’t rush to read it at once? I guess you understand what I’m trying to say now.

The same thing applies to popular bloggers like Henneke, Neil Patel, Bryan Harris, and Brian Clack.

Each time I see a new blog post from these guys, I don’t do anything else until I finish reading it. This is because I already know that I won’t be disappointed.

The good news is that it doesn’t take any particular thing to write like or even better than them, all you need to do is to horn your writing skill constantly. You can only get better with consistent practice and with time.

Even famous copywriters like Garry Herbert and others weren’t born a great writer, they learned it, they mastered it, and it became a part of them. You can do that too.

After writing each article, read and re-read it again, and if after reading each paragraph, it didn’t compel you to continue from the next paragraph then, it’s not sufficient, and you have to tweak it more until it captures attention.

According to LinkedIn Technology Marketing Community “Top three things that make content effective are: Audience Relevance (58%); Engaging and Compelling Storytelling (57%); Triggers a Response/Action (54%)”

If you think it will be a waste of your time to learn how to write catchy blog posts, another option to outsource it.

Hire other professional writers take care of all your writing tasks while you put your attention on other vital aspects of your business.

It will also interest you to know that Marketers are outsourcing 18% of their content, with the remaining content being created in-house, curated or syndicated. So, outsourcing might be your best option if you can’t write well.

Furthermore, start practicing how to write longer contents. Another research by Curata shows that “Long-form blog posts generate 9x more leads than short-form blog posts”.

NOTE: I’m currently writing a Kindle book titled: 21 Writing Hacks: A Cheat Sheet for Writing Compelling Articles That Will Open Doors and Land you Clients. The book will soon be ready, and if you want to get a free copy, Join the waiting list here, and I will send it to you once done. Apart from that, I will also give you an unannounced gift once you join the list; I promise you’ll enjoy it.

Bottom Line: If you want to become a celebrated blogger, you must first become a great writer.

5. Don’t Be Cheap

Just like every other business in life, if you’re not willing to spend money on your blog to enhance its growth then I’m afraid; you will never become successful.

Sorry if I sounded harsh but, I couldn’t think of another way to say it.

No business can thrive without some investments except it isn’t precisely a business.

I’ve seen bloggers that don’t like putting money on their blogs, those are the people that will always be looking for free tools here and there, and they will still expect to be called a pro blogger.

The beauty of WordPress is that it does not require much investment to set up. I mean with just $50, you can create a blog that will end up replacing your day if everything goes well.

I understand that some people might not be able to afford such amount while starting hence; they start with a free blog powered with everything free including theme and plugins. This is a different scenario provided you will invest in premium tools once you start generating some cash.

However, if you have the money and don’t just want to spend it on the things that will facilitate the growth of your blog, you’re stingy, and you won’t go far.

Therefore, if you’re serious about running a successful blogging business, invest wisely on your blog, and you will eventually rip the reward.

Conclusion

There is nothing you cannot achieve in life once you put your mind to it. You just have to believe you can become a celebrated blogger then, follow everything I’ve outlined here and work your way up to that height.

It does not require any special sacrifice apart from your willing to work hard and smart. Those bloggers you often hear their name on the internet and then wish you could become like them has only one head like you.

They’re not super humans; they breathe exactly the way you do so, stop wishing and start acting. I will say that again:

“Stop Wishing and Start Acting”
